Youri lives in Siberia, on the shore of Lake Baikal. Weaving fiction and documentary together, the picture book portrays the boy's daily life: his father who raises him alone, the ice hunters who supply homes with fresh water, the Buryat neighbors, the region's flora and fauna, as it rapidly empties of people... The story alternates with more documentary plates describing the endemic animals and plants in turn (trees, birds, fish).
