Gladys's parents decide to take Jack with them to Russia so that their daughter Gladys feels less lonely. During a stop at a gas station, they take in an abandoned cat... that talks! And that tells wonderful stories to send the children to sleep. When they wake up, Jack and Gladys are in an old-fashioned bedroom in a modest house where Yaya lives, a kind of witch. As they try to escape, they find themselves in the square of a snowy village where fairies, centaurs and other magical creatures wander about...
