Discover the species that need protecting, then bet on your animals' strengths to collect all the cards in the game and win. So, ready to take up the challenge?
The idea behind Défis Nature - Records des Animaux is simple: children aged 7 and up bet on the animals' strengths. The player with the strongest characteristic wins the other players' cards. The first to collect all the cards in the game wins.
All players have their cards in front of them, face down. The player starting the round looks at the top card of their pile and picks the animal characteristic they think is strongest. The other players look at their top card and announce the value of that same characteristic. The player with the highest value wins the round.
The humpback whale weighs 25,000 kg… Can it win the battle against the black howler, a South American monkey? Yes! The humpback whale is the heavier animal (the black howler weighs only 7 kg).
Watch out: how threatened a species is can turn the tables during battles! If a player's animal is more threatened than that of the player who opened the round, they can change the characteristic being compared.
The records of these two species? The black howler can let out calls so powerful they can be heard more than five kilometers away. The humpback whale, meanwhile, is a breath-holding specialist: it can hold its breath for over 30 minutes!
A random Collector card is included in the Défis Nature - Records des Animaux card game. It lets players discover a natural phenomenon (e.g. Fire, Rainbow, Tornado, Eclipse, Hail, Aurora…) and triggers a specific action in the round.
