Jack is not like other little boys. Originally, he is a 'cikavac', a forest spirit able to turn into any animal. Adopted by a human family, he knows he will grow up and gradually lose access to the marvelous and to nature. His transformations are now limited to a single metamorphosis per species. But it is not yet time to mourn childhood. Unusual gatherings of monkeys are causing concern. With his friend Malek and Floche the firefly, Jack is drawn along by a tamarin in search of the monkey god Numan and his three guardians.
In this series, Kid Toussaint and Miss Prickly make adventure rhyme with nature. The journey around the world shows, with sensitivity and a teacher's touch, the consequences of deforestation in every corner of the planet: in India, Indonesia, Central Africa and Guatemala.
Despite the threats hanging over the future, the tenderness of the drawings, the play of details and the optimistic twists turn this ecological fable into a fantastic fresco inspired by the wonders of biodiversity. Enough to give young generations a taste for nature and a breath of hope!
